What is the NBN?

It is the Australian Government’s new wholesale, high-speed National Broadband Network (NBN) being rolled out across the country. The Australian Government has established NBN Co Limited (NBN Co), to design, build and operate the NBN.

Eventually, the NBN will replace Australia’s ageing copper telecommunications network currently connecting homes to the internet. The copper network cannot carry the types of services we now expect from the internet (eg TV, video, medical imaging files etc) and needs to be replaced by something better.

The government and their telecomms engineers have devised a plan to bring those services to us using fibre in most cities and towns, and a mix of wireless and satellite in country and rural areas.

This project is being implemented by the NBN Co. and is the largest infrastructure project undertaken in Australia.

We are pleased to be part of this and be able to offer you NBN services as they are being rolled out.
